Weill Cornell Medical College offers a cardiovascular imaging fellowship program focused on cardiac MRI, with the opportunity for additional training in cardiac CT or advanced echocardiography as a secondary modality.
Teaching faculty includes cardiologists, radiologists, and biomedical engineers, providing fellows with a collaborative, multidisciplinary learning environment.
Duration: 1-2 years
Eligibility: Graduates of accredited US cardiology fellowships
Curriculum
Graduates of the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship will be prepared to serve as independent interpreters of cardiac MRI, while also gaining proficiency in a secondary imaging modality (CT or echocardiography).
Key curriculum elements include:
- Expertise in cardiac MRI for clinical assessment and research applications
- Additional training in either cardiac CT or advanced echocardiography, tailored to fellow’s interests
- Exposure to a wide spectrum of cardiac pathologies across cardiovascular imaging modalities
- In-depth knowledge of cardiac disease presentations and findings across MRI and the selected secondary modality
- Training in radiation safety and contrast dose management
- Robust research opportunities in key areas including valvular disease, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiomyopathy
Instructions to Applicants
Applicants must be currently enrolled in or have completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease. Candidates are accepted into the program after completion of cardiology training.
